INTRODUCING // SOUND DESIGNER JON NICHOLLS

We are delighted that Jon Nicholls – who designed the sound for the stage version of Pink Mist (written by Owen Sheers and directed by John Retallack) – will design the soundscape for UNICORNS, ALMOST.

Jon is an award-winning composer, sound designer and multi-instrumentalist, creating music and sound scores for drama and documentary nationally and internationally on televisionfilmVRaudio drama and in the theatre.

Drawing on a huge range of eclectic influences, his work ranges from sweeping orchestral music to abstract electronics, choral writing and quirkily innovative sound design.

Working from his own broadcast-standard Pro Tools-based studio, he’s well-used to collaborating with international production teams and delivering remotely over a range of platforms. He’s been extensively commissioned by broadcasters including BBC Radio and BBC TV, Channel 4, ITV, Sky & Al Jazeera, and his music / sound scores are regularly heard in major theatres around the UK including the Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre and in the West End. He also has an extensive network of outstanding live instrumentalists with whom he regularly works.

‘Nothing is too much to ask, no timeline is impossible, and there is simply no style or form of music he can’t deliver’ (Neil Gardner, Producer, BBC Radio)

You can find a wider selection of music clips organized by style / genre here.
